ACR Stryker, engineered to make the process of building your own car simple and straightforward.

Good company practice includes understanding your limitations!

Our unique chassis and modern body design were developed to accept the majority of components sourced from a single-donor vehicle, namely, the high-performance Ford Falcon sedan (FG model built between 2008-2016).

The reality is that only companies with an extremely large pool of resources and capabilities, like Ford, can still afford to design and produce complex mechanical components and systems and still be cost efficient. This is why ACR relies on the Falcon componentry for the Stryker as we are guaranteed that all these items have been tested to the highest level of quality, performance and safety expectations. Some of these major components include engine and transmission, complete front & rear end/suspension assemblies, brake and steering systems, dashboard/wire harness and computer control equipment.

The combination of the Stryker chassis and body design creates a spacious interior that can accommodate occupants over 6’5’’ tall, providing ample leg room and excellent all round visibility.

Chassis

The performance and success of the Stryker is dependant first and foremost on the quality and strength of the chassis. Our all aluminium monocoque chassis is created from computer designed, CNC precision laser-cut and machined components. Each chassis is completely welded on our custom designed jig using the latest technically advanced Pulse MIG welding equipment ensuring both the best possible strength and a superior finish.
This unique monocoque design is more rigid than the typical tube-frame chassis and therefore has increased ride, handling and safety characteristics.

Body

Our Hand-laid FRP composite fibreglass body panels are manufactured to the highest quality standards for uniform thickness and strength and engineered to complement our unique chassis design. The Stryker has 16 individual (removeable) body panels that are bolted into place allowing full access to the chassis and also creates a fully separate un-stressed assembly. Both driver and passenger doors come fitted with side-impact safety (anti-intrusion) bars as per Australian Standard requirements.

Soft top or Hard top roof?

Whether you’re the person who enjoys the open top wind-in-the-hair experience or prefer a little protection from the elements ACR has a Stryker option to cover all those needs. Available in either a Roadster version with an optional soft top roof (currently in development) or a removable Hard top roof version that has a flat rear decklid area in lieu of the ‘headrest pod’ style decklid of the Roadster.

Powertrain Options

Our design is configured for using a modern Ford 6-cylinder or V8 engine and manual or automatic transmission combinations. The key to the Stryker being a cost-effective build is to use as many parts from the donor vehicle as possible and also allows for a relatively straightforward ‘plug and play’ build process. Further options are currently in the development stage.

Windscreen

The windscreen is a Stryker specific ACR design and meets all Australian and New Zealand Standards for compliance.

Ease of Build

The Stryker requires neither a large degree of engineering ability nor specialized equipment to complete. Our cars have been designed to be assembled by the home car-builder requiring only basic automotive knowledge and tools. Even if you have never built a car before you can successfully complete your Stryker to a high standard.
The average build period for a Stryker is 6-months (on a part-time basis), with the philosophy behind our build design being an efficient, cost effective and rewarding experience. The end result being ownership of a drop dead gorgeous sportscar that you built in your own home garage.

Instructions

A comprehensive Assembly Manual is supplied with each body/chassis unit, which includes step by step instructions to make the job of building your Stryker simple and straight forward. Personal access to our on-line Owners Technical Portal is also provided.

On the Street

In Australia all Individually Constructed Vehicles (lCV’s) must be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification and State based legislation including the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Vehicle Standards and Safety) Regulation 2010.
Due to varying registration compliance from State to State we recommend confirming the specific requirements with your States transport department and consulting with your certifying Engineer prior to purchasing our product/s.
